To foster a good relationship, the Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) hosted the Somalia FETP team from August 22 to September 1, 2022. The purpose of the visit was to share the experiences, best practices, and lessons learned of the LFETP in implementing the frontline program in Liberia for over five years. Activities covered during the visit were meetings with the leadership of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) and the staff of the LFETP. Other activities included were site visits to a sub-national level graduate in Margibi County and a tour of the National Reference Laboratory of Liberia.
About Us
The Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (LFETP) began in August 2015. The program is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and implemented by the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET). Emory University was instrumental and directly involved in standing up and implementing the program for the first year of LFETP’s existence.
