On June 28, 2022, the Steering Committee for the Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) convened to update team members on the Liberia FETP activities and progress. They were also sensitized on the institutionalization of the Liberia FETP, the accreditation of the Intermediate FETP, and the diversification of Liberia FETP.
Besides the Ministry of Health, the National Public Health Institute of Liberia, the African Field Epidemiology Network, the University of Liberia, the World Health Organization, and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it was agreed upon by the Committee to include representatives from the World Bank, and the Ministry of Finance. The Committee is headed by an Acting Chairman from the National Public Health Institute of Liberia.
About Us
The Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (LFETP) began in August 2015. The program is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and implemented by the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET). Emory University was instrumental and directly involved in standing up and implementing the program for the first year of LFETP’s existence.
