Liberia FETP Program Celebrates its Intermediate Cohort 9th Graduation

On August 14, 2025, the Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) celebrated the graduation of its eighth cohort of intermediate residents. This achievement represents a critical step in strengthening Liberia’s public health workforce. This remarkable accomplishment was made possible through the coordinated efforts of LFETP, the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the primary founder of the program.

The graduates demonstrated their abilities and knowledge through remarkable presentations, which included group and individual projects. Their dedication and hard work throughout the program were reflected in the quality of their work.

The ceremony was filled with joy and gratitude as the graduates thanked the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), the funding organization, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL). Mentors were also awarded with sincere gifts in recognition of their wisdom and assistance.

Congratulations to the 8th cohort of intermediate graduates—your dedication and resilience have set the road for a healthy future in Liberia and beyond. We are proud of your accomplishments and wish you continued success as an advocate and leader in public health.
