Liberia FETP Celebrates Graduation of Third Executive Cohort: Equipping Medical Directors for Enhanced Disease Surveillance

On August 18, 2023, the Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (LFETP) celebrated the graduation of its third FETP Executive (FETP-E) cohort. This momentous occasion saw eleven Medical Directors from health facilities across Liberia, each equipped with the essential public health knowledge and skills needed to effectively oversee disease surveillance in their respective healthcare institutions. The graduation ceremony featured insightful speeches from the program’s faculty and engaging presentations by the graduating cohort members, marking a significant milestone in their public health journey.

About Us

The Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (LFETP) began in August 2015. The program is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and implemented by the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET). Emory University was instrumental and directly involved in standing up and implementing the program for the first year of LFETP’s existence.
