A Liberian Delegation comprising two senior management staff from the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), five LFETP faculty members, and one LFETP graduate attended the 11th TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference in Panama from September 4 to 9, 2022. Six other LFETP graduates participated virtually as oral and poster presenters. In all, LFETP made four oral and three poster presentations.
The Conference was a learning opportunity as members of the team attended Interactive Learning Sessions (ILS) on varied topics, including R studio, FETP blended programs, approaches to evaluating FETP, and FETP institutionalization. Field site visit was another learning opportunity.
In addition, there were networking opportunities – the team interacted with the leadership of CDC Head Quarters FETP, the AFENET Secretariat, and the West African Health Organization (WAHO) to discuss funding prospects for LFETP, among others.
The team also met with the Zimbabwe FETP team, who shared their experience with institutionalization. The Liberia FETP team garnered ideas to improve the implementation and some next steps for LFETP.
Liberia’s Intermediate FETP also received Accreditation status from the Global Accreditation Body.
