The US CDC and the African field epidemiology Network (AFENET) collaborated to support MOHS to implement workforce development (Field Epidemiology Training Program – FETP) for surveillance and other public health workers at the national and subnational levels of the health systems. Graduates of the FETP at the Frontline and Intermediate levels play a critical role in supporting the rollout of outbreak investigation cross border activities and the electronic case-based disease surveillance system (eCBDS). The US CDC is committed to supporting the MOHS build a reliable and robust public health surveillance system. And to this end, is collaborating with AFENET to recruit and fill the position of; an Administrative Officer to work closely with the AFI Surveillance project. Liberia.

2: MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Administrative Officer for the Acute Febrile illness surveillance project will work under the supervision of the AFI Project Coordinator and AFENET-Liberia Resident Advisor to carry out the following responsibilities:

  • Proper documentation of all AFI Project, Liberia activities, including minutes of meetings
  • Proper filing of all AFI Project Liberia records and documents
  • Provide updates on AFI surveillance activities to AFENET Liberia’s IT-Specialist for upload onto AFENET Liberia website, monthly bulletins
  • Provide administrative services for all AFI Project, Liberia activities
  • Maintain records and reports from all AFI surveillance support staff at both health facility and the National Reference laboratory.
  • Maintain timely submission of AFI Project Liberia program reports and accountabilities
  • Liaise with AFI Project Liberia partners and stakeholders when their services are being requested, and when bills are due for payment and accountabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Resident Advisor or the AFI Project Coordinator

3: QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • The successful candidate should have a minimum of a Degree in Business Administration or relevant qualifications.
  • Possession of Post graduate qualifications in Project Planning and management is preferred advantage.
  • The ideal candidate should have not less than 3 years’ experience in project management, project administration or coordination and proof of such in similar project work is important.
  • Previous experience and service in FETP or AFENET-Liberia activities is added advantage.
  • A mature and committed person with excellent interpersonal skills, a fast leaner and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Expertise in accounting and Excellent Computer knowledge.
