Liberia FETP and NPHIL’s Remarkable Participation at the 8th AFENET Scientific Conference

We are excited to share the recent accomplishments of the Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (LFETP) and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) at the 8th AFENET Scientific Conference held in Mombasa, Kenya. The conference occurred at Pride Inn Paradise Hotel from November 5 to 10, 2023, bringing together experts and professionals in public health across Africa.

Participation and involvement in Key Events

The Liberian contingents demonstrated a strong presence at the conference, actively engaging in various activities. Both oral and poster presentations were made, showcasing the valuable contributions of AFENET Liberia/LFETP and NPHIL to the field of public health.

The team actively participated in pre-conference workshops, plenary sessions, international and cultural nights, and the prestigious award night. These events provided opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration with other public health professionals from different regions.

Accolades and Recognition

 A moment of pride for Liberia FETP came with receiving the FETP accreditation award, officially conferred on September 15, 2022. This recognition underscores the program’s commitment to excellence and adherence to the highest standards in epidemiological training.

Furthermore, the Liberia FETP received the JIEPH Supplements Award for exceptional contributions through the Liberia Frontline FETP Supplement – generating evidence for public health action. This acknowledgment reflects the program’s significant impact on advancing public health knowledge and practice.

The Liberian contingents, through their active involvement and notable achievements, have not only showcased the capabilities of AFENET Liberia/LFETP and NPHIL but have also contributed to the overall success of the 8th AFENET Scientific Conference, offering active ICT support and many more.
